Using SoundCloud for Daily Creates

Here is a screencast overview of how to use SoundCloud for the The Daily Create (TDC). You will have to join a SoundCloud group for each TDC to have it associated on the main web site.

You can upload audio to SoundCloud.com, or record directly into the web site or its mobile app (the mobile app doe snot provide a way to add it to a group).

To add your sound tracks to your blogs, you should click the share button on the track, and copy the “embed” code. IN WordPress editor, you should flip the mode (top  right corner of editing field) to HTML to make the code work correctly.

Make some sounds!

  1. I believe that in the free version of Sound Cloud, you can only belong to and share with one group at a time, so you have to make sure to unjoin your last group. Log out of SC and then log back in to join the current group.
Or pay, and I think that’s what I’m going to do.

My observation is that the iPad ap for SC will not allow you to record sounds, and please correct me if I’m missing something. I’m going to try using the ap Sound Pro, which I can email to myself and then load to SC. Has anyone tried that?

  2. That’s not true Sandy, although the site says so. I have a free account and joined 6 tdc groups (as shown in my screencast). You can only *create* one group with a free account, and you can only share a track in one group.

My ipad app does record with the Soundcloud app (and I even have the ancient ipad)
